I am proud today of myself and my country...which is such an amazing feeling, I wish I could describe it. To feel like you are connected with people across an entire country is a feeling all its own. Especially when you live in a city where it's quite possible that you understand barely 1% of the population. I wish I could be as proud of my city, but I'm scarcely surprised as Detroit is historically liberal, leading to the elimination of conservative votes by liberal votes, and J.K. and CO. taking the state. I will admit I was prematurely excited when the local news announced that the GOP was ahead by 4% in Michigan, but this was before they said that votes from from Detroit and the Metro area had not yet been totaled. John Kerry won rather significantly in Dearborn... again, not surprisingly.
I'm just proud that not only did he win states, but George Bush was favored in the popular vote by 3.5 million votes.

I am getting the impression that some people here in the lovely land of livejournal may have felt "attacked" or like I was singling them out because they were voting for John Kerry. I was not, in fact, doing this, as I only know how one person out of 40 on my page was voting. I mean, it's not surprising that a lot of people in my age range are liberals, most of them are. My comments were definitely not directed personally at YOU...I was simply using this wonderful tool as a public forum for my own opinions, the same as anyone else. I go to school in downtown DETROIT. I'm a freaking minority among minorities. I heard uneducated people tell me everyday why I was an idiot, why Conservatives are idiots, why George W. Bush is the reigning king of idiots...I heard them talk about how P. Diddy was the savior among saviors, how John Kerry was a goddamn angel descending form Heaven, and how Michael Moore was the most GENIUS man alive. All of these things, along with John Kerry's LACK of informative campaign and LACK of a stance on issues in general enraged me. Ask any political analyst, liberal or conservative, they will tell you that the Democratic Party's campaign failed because it was mainly ANTI-BUSH. That's all fine and well for swinging the uneducated, but if you want to actually obtain votes, you have to take a position on moral issues, something Kerry didn't really love doing. Well, maybe he did, he just didn't like maintaining his positions, he sure seemed to vary them depending on what group of faces he was talking to. But I digress. It is a good day for me and now I only wish that I wasn't stuck at school so I could see President George W. Bush address the nation.

Take the house, take the senate, take the cake.

I would like to take this time to congratulate P.Diddy, ~~MOCK~~ Rock the Vote, MTV, and Citizen Change "20 Million Loud" to be the exact failure everyone thought they would be. 17% of people ranging in age from 18-30 voted this year, and 17% of citizens ranging in age from 18-30 voted in 2000. SWEET! A whopping 0% change! Sorry P. Diddy, but you didn't "Tell me so..."

Bush believes in the legalization of abortion if the woman was raped, or the mother in danger.

What really bothers me about John Kerry is his desperate need to switch us all over to a national healthcare plan. If I wanted a generic doctor, from a general practice, where i could wait 12 hours in a clinic, to recieve a generica prescription, I would move to Canada. However, I live in the United States of America. I would rather be able to pay for the kind of healthcare I can afford. If my grandpa has cancer and has enough money to pay for the best treatment in the country, then I want him to get it. Likewise, I don't want to be pay for LaShatoria to have her 9th abortion cause her third baby's daddy keeps on stopping over to fool around. That's MY money.

Oh hey, John Kerry is ALL for the environment with 4 SUVs sitting in his driveway. Talk about a class act, of course this guy doesn't lie! He's like an angel from heaven! And so is his whole family!! We stayed at the Hotel Allegro on Randolph......the room was the BEST. THING. EVER.

We went and saw Corey!! (Patterson for non-cubs fans) it was his birthday, but you know the cubs, they found a way to lose...

hahaha i look so stupid, but not as bad as out good buddy andrew!! he wouldn't let us sit until we played the "who can eat the fastest peanut game." Matt was the fastest and won us our seats.
